We had exciting visitors at the end of the school day today! A swarm of bees flew into the grounds and settled on the nursery hedge.
Luckily, we know a local beekeeper who came along to capture the swarm. Mr Kelly brought along a special ‘nucleus’ hive to house them in and the staff were fascinated to watch. We all learnt a lot about how a queen bee uses pheromones to attract the workers and how a hive works. Fascinating stuff!
