Cracking character costumes! Beccles go bonkers for books! #WorldBookDay #Fabulous #inspiration #enjoyment #learning

Thursday 3rd March was World Book Day and Beccles children and staff turned out in book-character-style!  We had pirates and princesses, superheroes and all sorts of animals.  Mary Poppins paid us a visit, the odd ‘Where’s Wally?’ popped up in the crowd and even a few dinosaurs roared into assembly!  There were two Cruella de Villes, two Gruffalos (little and large!) and even Elmer the Elephant came to play.

From Alice in Wonderland to Mr Bump, the children were taught by a wide range of characters.  Take a look at the gallery below.

But the real stars were the children, who didn’t let the excitement of the dressing up affect their hard work in class. Year 5 were even writing diary entries from the point of view of their characters!

All in all, an enjoyable day for all – a wonderful way to whet our appetites for our Book Week this week, with our Book Fair arriving on Wednesday.  Huge thanks to all, especially parents, for the efforts involved with the fabulous costumes!
