The children of Beccles Primary Academy had a real treat last week when they were visited by Fluke and Shadow – two of the residents of Fritton Owl Sanctuary. Fluke is a beautiful Barn Owl and Shadow was a very proud Tawny Owl.
The visit was organised as a result of children in the Nursery, who developed a fascination with owls when a knitted owl was brought into the classroom. This extended through the school, right up to years 5 and 6 who are studying Harry Potter this term.
The visit from the owls was extra special because the children were allowed to stroke the owls and have their photo taken with them. All of the children said that they found it to be a truly magical experience.
Thank you to the kind people at the owl sanctuary for giving us a whole day of their time to help us find out more about owls and their lifestyles.
