Great to see so may parents at the Year 5 Science afternoon! Magnetite class were mixing milk and vinegar to make an irreversible change. We found that the two liquids curdle to create a new material called casein plastic. This was used about 100 years ago to make buttons, buckles and other decorative objects. Iolite class investigated the chemical reaction when bicarbonate of soda was added to vinegar. In the kitchen the children were watching the chemical reaction of heat on cookie dough – we all enjoyed tasting this reaction!
